With Christmas over it is time for a fresh start, this includes with your garden. January is the best time to get ahead for the summer months, from keeping on top of debris, pruning your trees and ordering in summer bulbs. As bulbs fade & herbaceous borders grow in leaps and bounds, it is now clear that summer is approaching. Sowing & planting out bedding can begin! It’s also time to get back into the lawn mowing regime, as the lawn will be loving the warmer temperatures this month brings. This is often one of the hottest months of the year and a great time to sit out & enjoy your garden. While there isn’t much to do in the ornamental garden at this time of year, if you have fruit or veg patch, you’ll be busy reaping the rewards of harvest. 11.Top ten gardening jobs to do in November & December

Tender plants will need protecting from frost, gales & freezing rains. Move plants into the greenhouse, or into a sheltered spot, but if you can’t, it is worth wrapping plants or pots. Remember winter can be tough time for birds in terms of water and food, so keep supplies well topped up.

December brings the quietude of winter, with shorter days and colder temperatures. While outdoor gardening activities may be limited, there are still tasks to be done. Gardeners can focus on planning and designing next year's garden, ordering seeds and supplies such as new tools, and maintaining indoor plants which help to benefit wellbeing in the gloomier months. It's also a time for reflection on the successes and challenges of the past year, as well as dreaming of the possibilities for the year ahead.
